Role Description

This is a remote internship for a Software Engineer Intern. You'll work directly with the founder to contribute to real features used by customers—primarily back-end web development and AI integrations—while practicing clean code and object-oriented design. Day-to-day work includes coding, debugging, writing tests, and collaborating on small scoped projects that ship.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and automation workflows
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI endpoints (e.g., OpenAI)
• Write clean, tested code and participate in lightweight code reviews
• Contribute to docs, deployment, and basic observability (logs/errors)
• Ship small features end-to-end with guidance

What You'll Learn

• Production-grade development on a real product
• AI integration patterns (prompting, error handling, cost control)
• API design, auth, rate limiting, and webhooks
• Modern dev tooling: Git/GitHub, CI, Netlify Functions/Cloud, Firestore
• Pragmatic testing and documentation habits

Minimum Qualifications

• Foundation in Computer Science or Software Engineering principles
• Experience coding in at least one language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java)
• Familiarity with backend/web development and OOP
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly in a remote setup

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js or Python backends
• Firebase/Firestore, Postgres, or similar databases
• Basic frontend skills (React) for internal tools
• Prior projects, hackathon entries, or a GitHub portfolio
